“Let us extend caring hands… Let us create a shelter of comfort and dignity.”

Established in 2002, Vanaprastham Charitable Trust was founded by Shri Nandanji Swatantra, whose spiritual foresight and dedicated service mindset remain the guiding force behind the Trust and its initiatives.
Under the Trust, Ashrayam Home ensures safe shelter, food and proper healthcare for our beloved seniors.
Day-to-day operations are coordinated by Mr. Haris P. Kozhikode, Trust Administrator & Legal In-Charge — a prominent social worker, industrialist and anthropologist dedicated to selfless service.

In their words
A Tribute to Shri Nandanji
Guruji, it has been a long time... your presence was there for such a long time.
All the memories are tied to your presence. Once, in Paingulam — the Tannissery locals would know Swamiji — a man from there, a fairly sensible man, happened to ask me, “Who is this Nandanji?” When I spoke about Shri Nandanji, this is what he said:
“He came like the rain and left like the rain. No one knows where he came from, nor where he went.”
Was he a Swamiji? Or someone in real estate? A rich man? A spiritual speaker? A farmer? None of us could ever grasp who or what Swamiji really was. Coming to a place full of so many issues, dishonest people and dangerous criminals, and executing a project like this all alone — what Swamiji accomplished back then is something even a professional builder cannot pull off today.
Similarly, to every person — be it people from the Agriculture Office or local real estate brokers — you are an enigma, Guruji. I am not joking; there is no exaggeration in this at all. Even now, Shri Nandanji is deeply etched in all their minds. People wonder where such a person came from and where he went. I told them Swamiji is currently a bit far away, in Tamil Nadu.
It truly is a wondrous thing. Moreover, Swamiji envisioned and put into practice concepts long before people even began thinking about them today — using your own money, without taking even 50 paise from anyone.
I am in complete awe of you, Swamiji. My family and I will forever remain at your feet. Respectful greetings.
About Vanaprastha Bhavanam (2002)
Vanaprastha Bhavanam in Cheruthuruthy, Keralam was the beginning of his service to humanity.
It’s an initiative that Guruji took back in 2002, when Vanaprastham was not a very known concept. He had introduced Vanaprastham — one of the ancient Indian ashrams of life: Brahmacharyam, Grihastham, Vanaprastham and Sannyasam — having foreseen the need for elderly care. It was his mission. This land is blessed to see such a beautiful beginning to his mission.
It’s such a blessing that Guruji’s grace is now reaching all over the country and even all over the world.
